We often receive questions from customers on what to believe and what not to believe when it comes to bicycle-related product reviews. Reviews from magazines and youtube channels can be informative and bring quality information to the masses. The downside of these produced reviews is that more often than not you as the viewer are left trying to figure out how the bicycle or part will work under your specific circumstances. More often than not your best resources are your local bike shop staff they know the local riding conditions and patterns of equipment that works well and those that do not. Manufactures design and produce products for the global market and as such not every product is designed for every type of road or trail condition.
The best advice is to find a product tester that you can identify with, one that rides the way you do and has similar interests.
